In today's video blog post, she discusses growing up in Rockland with a single mom and two siblings and how those experiences help her understand students' social, emotional, and physical needs as a counselor. "I'm not just an outsider who's watching [social struggles] happen to my students. I am somebody who lived this, who can say, 'I've been there with you.' "Working as a counselor is really important to me, being able to help people through their everyday stresses. I feel like I had a unique voice and a unique perspective due to my job that would allow me to write blog posts that resonated with other people." | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
